Building a club that could grow with confidence
Mourne Gymnastics Club has been part of the local community in Newry, County Down for more than 20 years.
Growing with Purpose
The challenge I faced as a club owner was the amount of time it took versus actual coaching time.

Finding better ways to support a growing community
Like many growing gymnastics clubs, more families and more sessions naturally created more moving parts across the club.
Keeping information up to date, maintaining communication with families and ensuring everything stayed connected across the club was beginning to take increasing amounts of time and attention throughout the week.
For Nikki, the biggest concern was the impact this was having on time spent supporting gymnasts and coaches directly.

As the club grew, creating a stronger structure around the wider club environment became increasingly important.
Giving coaches more time where it matters most
Since working with Thrive4Gymnastics, Mourne Gymnastics Club has been able to create a more connected and reliable experience across the club.
That has helped reduce pressure across the team and created more space to focus on coaching, gymnast development and supporting families throughout the year.
Communication across the club now feels clearer and easier to manage, while the wider team has greater confidence in the day-to-day experience being created for gymnasts and families.
For Nikki, one of the biggest differences has been knowing the club feels more manageable and better prepared to continue growing sustainably.

Creating stronger support around the club
As well as creating a more manageable environment for coaches and volunteers, the changes have also helped strengthen the club’s long-term sustainability.
With greater consistency across the wider club, Mourne Gymnastics Club has been able to focus more energy on continuing to develop opportunities for young gymnasts and strengthen the experience families receive across the club.
The support from the Thrive4Gymnastics team has also played an important role throughout that journey, helping Nikki and the wider team feel supported as the club continued evolving. “It has made this job so much easier… Can’t beat that.”
Supporting the people behind the club
At the centre of Mourne Gymnastics Club has always been a commitment to helping young people grow in confidence, develop new skills and feel supported within the club environment.
By creating stronger foundations around the club itself, the team has been able to spend more time focusing on the people who make the club what it is - the gymnasts, coaches and families at the heart of the community.
Today, the club continues to create opportunities for young gymnasts in an environment that feels welcoming, dependable and built to support the future of the community around it.
